Major cash boost for Future

The Future Project has been awarded £436,000 by the Big Lottery Fund’s Young People’s Fund for a five-year project to consult with ‘hard to reach’ young people, in a model that is hoped will be used across the country.

Future Education has registered with OFSTED as an Independent Special School.

Creating music

Future Studios are now accepting applications for the next round of level 1 music courses beginning late February 2010. The courses are run as a franchise of City College Norwich, offering students all the benefits of becoming a City College student while studying at Future Studios professional facilities.

Charity ‘Marathon’ Broadcast

Future Radio’s breakfast presenter Terry Lee was so keen not to be drafted in to run the City of Norwich Half Marathon that he decided to set up his very own endurance test, staying on air for 27 hours.

And the winner is...

Organised by Future Radio, the region’s biggest competition for new and emerging bands and musicians reached its climax last month, after 130 entries were whittled down to just one and Console Wars were crowned this year’s Next Big Thing.

Key stage 4 Engagement Programme 2009/10

Enrol now for Future Studio’s part-time education programmes using mixed media, music and the visual arts. Aimed at young people struggling in mainstream education, experienced staff work with students to encourage creativity and the freedom to express themselves, building confidence and ambition and helping to prevent permanent exclusion from school.

Future’s growing ambition

Future Radio has an ever growing audience, thanks to the creativity, ambition and drive of the team and band of volunteers at the station. A few recent achievements include - the only independent radio station nominated in the Creative East Awards 2009; an interview with Alex James bassist with the recently reformed Blur and now, you can download Future Radio podcasts on iTunes!
